Pumpkins
We read this book before carving our pumpkin and storing some of it to watch decay.

We cut open a small pumpkin and added soil and water to see if the seeds would grow. Look - our first little sprout!
Three months later...the same pumpkin plant growing outside our window:
April update: Flowers!
How many things can you do with a tiny pumpkin? Ours started in a large guessing jar, then we weighed them to see if they weighed more or less than a pencil, an apple, a book, etc. Finally, at our class Halloween party, we each decorated one and used them as table decorations.
