Growing in Pre K
Classroom 2011-12
The vinyl cling tree is from Target. Karen at Prekinders.com made the cute polka dot borders available to download free on her TPT store.
I just love my alphabet with soil, grass, and sky to help the kids see where letters fall on the three lines. I ordered it at Really Good Stuff. I also purchased the magnetic jelly beans hundred chart there. I have had the two light blue pocket charts for a few years. Target used to sell them in the back to school dollar spot. They used to smell terrible when you first opened the package, but then were heavier quality than the ones they offer now. Anyway, I think they will be very handy when we do pocket chart activities (like matching rhyming picture cards) during circle. I have moved my "Who's here today" and schedule pocket charts to this wall as well. I used to have them close to the door, but this way they will be easy to refer to during morning meeting.
The blue crate holds "my favorite" read aloud books. It is stuffed!
The Dramatic Play Center is always set up as a kitchen at the beginning of the year.
I treated myself to a new director's chair cover and ordered the iron-on owl transfer from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/craftyfrances?ref=pr_shop_more
We found the directions for the sensory tub online, but the 11 gallon container called for in the directions doesn't seem to be available any more. The kind gentleman who built these for us had to adapt the measurements to fit this 10 gallon tote. Unfortunately, we cannot completely close it while it is in the pvc stand. I am still very grateful to have it! Lists of sensory tub ideas abound.
Just found this cute boarder at Dollar Tree. The old CCBB boarder may be coming down....
Word Wall:
This vinyl cling alphabet is from Target. I am hoping it stays on better than my Chicka Chicka Boom Boom letters did last year.
The Pre-K version of the book cover seat pockets that I saw on Pinterest. These little covers were 59 cents at Walmart. I am hoping they will be perfect for the kids' supply boxes.
My Lakeshore drying rack is right next to the bathroom this year. Less drips! I found the color word birds at Target.
My collection of reading buddies from Kohl's. (I have a small class so far this year, so I am using some of the extra cubbies for book boxes.)
The adorable crate seats seen all over Pinterest.com. Here's a great tutorial:http://whattheteacherwants.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-gave-in.html
I am also very happy with my Math Tubs for this year. I am using big flat stackable boxes from Dollar Tree.
I got this adorable ABC drawer idea from KindergartenKindergarten. You can find the directions to make one here: http://www.kindergartenkindergarten.com/2011/08/abc-sorting-box.html I added my own touch. I matched the scrapbook papers to the letters. I already had a collection of small items for the drawers.
